Full Eligibility Details

  • Junior Translator/ Junior Hindi Translator :- Master‟s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR
  • Master‟s degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR
  • Master‟s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of a examination at the degree level; OR
  • Master‟s degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR
  • Master‟s Degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level And
  • Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years‟ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.
  • Senior Hindi Translator :- Master‟s degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level; OR

How To Apply

Applications are required to be submitted in online mode only at the official website of SSC Headquarters i.e. https://ssc.nic.in One-time Registration process (as per details at Annexure-III) requires you to upload a recent (i.e. not more than three month old) scanned colour passport size photograph in JPEG format (20 KB to 50 KB). Image dimension of the photograph should be about 3.5 cm (width) x 4.5 cm (height). The photograph should be without cap, spectacles and both ears should be visible. The date on which the photograph has been taken should be printed on the photograph.

Mode Of Selection

Minimum qualifying marks in Paper-I and Paper-II are as follows: ( UR: 30%, OBC/ EWS: 25%, Others: 20%)
  1. Based on the marks scored in the Paper-I i.e. Computer Based Examination, candidates will be shortlisted, category-wise, to appear in Paper-II. If the Computer Based Examination is conducted in multiple shifts, normalized marks will be used to determine merit.
  2. Based on the performance in Paper-I+Paper-II, candidates will be shortlisted for Document Verification.
  3. Final selection and allocation of Ministries/ Departments will be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in Paper-I+Paper-II and the preference of Posts/ Departments exercised by them at the time of Document Verification.
